I remember being 12 and learning about this atrocity occurring in the world only to learn that it currently still happens to this day. As an adult, I wanted to revisit this topic to raise awareness about how common this barbaric act is in Africa and parts of the Middle East. The feeling I felt that day knowing that girls and women have either gone through this or will go through this gutted me and has driven me to fight for human rights of not only women but for all humans.
